Lisbon Fashion Week 25/26: The Highlights

The 64th edition of Lisbon Fashion Week took place from March 6th to 9th, showcasing the best of Portuguese design at Pátio da Galé.

When it comes to fashion on the runway, the Portuguese industry does things a little differently from what we’re used to seeing. Some designers especially stood out, drawing inspiration from the country’s culture and history while blending it with their own unique styles to create fresh trends.

Gonçalo Peixoto

Peixoto has been presenting at Lisbon Fashion Week since 2018. This year, he debuted a women’s collection that was bold and powerful.

Light and neutral tones dominated the runway, in line with global trends. Peixoto incorporated shimmering details and sheer fabrics, adding a playful and fun element to his designs.

Luís Carvalho

A Lisbon Fashion Week staple since 2013, Luís Carvalho is internationally recognized and a favorite among Portuguese public figures. His collections are always highly anticipated.

This season, under the theme "Rush Hour," Carvalho paid tribute to women’s journey into the corporate world. He reimagined office attire by breaking traditional dress codes and challenging gender norms. The collection featured bold colors, dynamic patterns, and voluminous silhouettes, bringing confidence and flair to workplace fashion.

Duarte Hajime

Ana Duarte, founder and creative director of Duarte Hajime, made her Lisbon Fashion Week debut in 2016. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, all prints in her collections are original and exclusive.

For this edition, her guiding words were "Strength, Transformation, and Balance." Drawing from the Japanese verb "Kaeru"—which means “to return home”—the collection reflects on personal growth. With powerful, contrasting colors, the pieces evoke a sense of metamorphosis, each one making a bold statement.

Dino Alves

A painter by training, Dino Alves has been a constant at Lisbon Fashion Week since 1997. He is also known for designing costumes for dance and theater productions across Portugal.

His collection closed this year’s edition with the theme "Out of the Ordinary," celebrating individuality and the uniqueness of every fabric and person. Through varied shapes and textures, Alves aimed to reinvent traditional forms, striving for excellence and self-improvement.

With another successful edition wrapped, Lisbon Fashion Week has firmly secured a spot on our list of top fashion weeks—and it’s one we’ll definitely be watching closely.
